Freeservers, formerly iwarp.com

I tried to get an account with these folks, but couldn't get past the sign-up sheets. It kept informing me that my first name had invalid characters ... so, I went to FortuneCity for a free website.

Egames

I bought a CD-ROM of games from Egames, and they are my favorites, especially Castle Camelot and RahJongg. The new versions are out, so be sure to d/l the demos.

Amazon.Com

I went over there to check out Plum Syke's new novel, BERGDORF BLONDES, which is available new for under $17. I've been looking for really old books about Bill Gates, or at least mentioning him, and hit pay dirt this time: FIRE IN THE VALLEY: THE MAKING OF THE PERSONAL COMPUTER, published in 1984. I am hoping there will be pictures of Bill and the clones in the first edition, which costs over $30.

The best part, though, was that I rejoined, since I used to buy books from Amazon when they first opened and was always satisfied. I was pleased to discover their Associates, Marketplace, and Honors Programs, which can help web developers and online merchants make money.

Datamation

This firm has been helping IT professionals since 1957. It appears to be an online resource of news articles about infotech. I spent my time there reading about the Can-Spam Bill that became law on January 1st, 2004.
